Plano Tree Cycle

This series of color pencil drawings is an exercise­–a personal study– of the summer leaves of the plane tree which is prevalent on the banks of lakes in Northern Italy and Switzerland. My thoughts while concentrating on their amazing visual complexity were about the paradox of amplification (magnification creates ever more detail) and wanting to experience a molecular level of observation.
