Fortuny Walls

The iconography for “Fortuny Walls”, a series of six works, evolved from an interest in layering visual imagery to consolidate personal and stream of consciousness connections in the manner of automatic writing. The stories that evolve are proposed to be evocative, visceral, confrontational and experienced uniquely by each viewer. The source images are from original photography and “found” printed graphic materials transformed using digital media and printed on 100% Hahnemühle rag paper. “Fortuny Walls” refers to the weathered, aged interior walls of the Fortuny Palace in Venice that were photographed by the artist as source material for this series.
